I can't stand pop-up windows. I consider them to be the spawn of the d

I can't stand pop-up windows. I consider them to be the spawn of the devil. I mean, not all of them are irritating, of course. But a lot of them are. Especially the utterly meaningless ones with the smiley faces/icons splattered over them. What is the bloody point of them? They're flashy, irritating and pointless, if you ask me. And anyone that thinks they're not needs to get out more often. Really.Whoever sat down one day and thought it would be cute to design an endless amount of those little pop-up incessants really missed the point of webdesign. It's meant to be a user-friendly experience when one logs onto their computer and hops on the internet, not a case of "let's play Dodge the Pop-ups", like an extremely extreeeemely poor version of Space Invaders. My computer, Delilah, doesn't like pop-ups, so please don't get her goat, or you'll be sorry you ever used a Computer. Grrrr.
You get pop-ups on some dating sites too. That's another thing that puts me off dating on-line. Some of those sites are always trying to sell you something (else). Like when you leave the site, guess what happens, our beloved pop-up pops up! Not as irritating as smiley pop-ups, but still, I'm not interested in what you're selling, love (or look for a more user-friendly way to sell it to me, please. Thanks.)Talking about Dating On-line, I have a friend who's tried it a couple of times. Mixed bag, really. Some of them looked nothing like their pictures or exaggerated their descriptions. The thing is: didn't they think they were actually gonna get a date? I mean, what's the point of exaggerating? 'Cos if you end going on a date, how do you explain away your lies. It's not worth it, folks. Just tell the truth. Either way, it's either you both hit it off or not. Just being friends isn't a bad thing either.Dating on-line really isn't my thing. Not that there's anything necessarily wrong with it. It has its pros and cons just like most things in life. But it's not something I'd try myself. Good luck to anyone who does, though.
