I wanted to go on the net one day as my friend had told me to go and look and see a web design that they had done and they were very proud of, she was a web designer and some of her work was absolutely outstanding on the net in a class of its own i would say.

I turned on my computer and clicked on my browser icon to get me onto the net, all of a sudden a pop-up appeared on my screen saying could not connect to the Internet, I looked at my broadband hub and all the lights were on the power light, the broadband light, the wireless broadband and the broadband phone so why on earth couldn't i get on The Net.

I closed the screen down and tried again but no this pop-up appeared again telling me it still could not connect to the internet, i pulled up the help screen to run a diagnostic check on it to see if the computer itself could fix the problem but it came up with nothing apart from yet again another pop-up telling me no connection found.

This was ridiculous, I picked up my phone and there was a dialling tone I thought i better phone out just to check so I called my own mobile and got through with no problem, then i checked the Broadband phone and that worked as well, something was up and I hadn't got a clue what was going on.

I pulled the ethernet cable at the back of the hub and yep sure enough that was still connected as it wouldnt budge, i hadnt been on my desk top for a few weeks now but no one else had either so I couldn't see what the problem was.

Oh well I thought to myself time to phone the technicians and ask for help, that's when i went under my desk and saw my laptop, which was unusual as it was normally in its bag, I picked the laptop up to put it back in the case but I couldn't and why couldn't I because silly me I had put the Ethernet cable into the back of it as i had wanted to download something quickly a few weeks ago onto my laptop, no wonder my Internet on my desk top wasn't working it wasn't even plugged in.
