Yesterday i bought a brand new server for my computer, the old server was starting too slow and had little to no more memory so I made sure i gota serverwith plenty of space and memory. When I got home i had to start setting it up which was not easy since I suck with technology and I don't understand anything about how to tell if I had a slow connection or a fast connection. I really knew very little about computers, I pretty much only used them for the occasional on-line search and video and music downloads. So I was not shocked when after only an hour of trying to setup my new computer I had convinced myself that I had already destroyed it. In my state of panic I called my best friend for life Gerry who was a web designer and had obviously had to have known something about computers and asked to have him come and help me salvage what was left of the eight hundred dollars I had just spent. Being the great guy he is, he agreed and rushed over to my home to survey the damage. Gerry also seemed to be unsurprised by my lack of knowledge about connections and servers but he managed to put my computer together and give me a crash course on computers. He started the internet and did an on-line search of connections and witch companies had the fastest connection and the slowest connection. I swear i had no idea that you could find out information about a computer on an actual computer. Next he had done an on-line search of servers and printed out a twelve page instruction booklet on how to set up a server. As usual i started to feel a little down in the dumps about my scattered head and Gerry went over step by step with me what to do and even stayed two extra hours just to explain each piece of the server cables and its function. I thanked him by ordering a pizza and downloading a movie off the web that we watched.
