It was exciting for two of us, Ajay and me, as we were working on building a web site which provides extensive analysis of chess games from recently concluded elite chess tournaments. We were very particular about web designs. We wanted a web design which is simple yet attractive, so we tried a lot of web designs until we were satisfied completely.

Ajay persuaded me into opting for a broadband internet connection before we could embark on our journey of building a site. He told “Vismay, we need to have high speed internet access at home as a first step towards our goal of building a site” and I couldn’t agree more as we wanted to do it on our own and not to hire any designers or SEO experts. Once internet access was available, we started to work on our goal. We used ‘Google’ to get information about site building. There were so many technicalities to be followed to build a website as we wanted. But with broadband internet access and a search engine like google being with us we weren’t supposed to be failed at anything!

Well, the site was ready after a lot of labour and love spent on it. We were excited to inform about the site and show it to others and especially to our friends. Ajay used his messenger to send all his buddies an instant message with the URL (uniform resource locator) of the site. Using messenger, I sent an instant message to my girlfriend informing about our brand new site. Greetings and hugs started to pour in, majority of those were from friends, of course!

Well, the job wasn’t over yet. We submitted our site to Google index first and then to other search engines. The website was ready and was looking really fantastic. Messenger was good to reach out our close friends but I wanted to reach out to more people and let them know about this new chess website, so I thought twitter is the best way to do that. Soon all my followers come to know about the site and site launch was more successful than our expectations. When the site was founded on first page of Google results, a broad smile appeared upon the faces of both Ajay and me! “Hurrah, goal achieved! “, was our loud cry.
